Issuance/Amendment/Renewal of Operating Licence of industrial or artisan activity by the Competent Body for companies and Upgrading Degrees/Practice Licences of Technical Professions Upgrading for individuals.
In the framework of responsibility and service, the «K&VGroup» company ensures the licencing of Industrial and Artisan activities.
The activities are required to obtain an installation permit and then an operating licence, which are given by the local Directorate of Development & Industry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Regional Units or by the General Secretariat of Industry of the Ministry of Development and Competitiveness.
If the activity does not exceed a motive power of 37.00 KW and a thermal power of 70.00 KW, then the business is not obliged to obtain an installation and operation permit.
In facilities with more power, it is necessary to issue an installation permit in order to install the machines on the premises of the company and then to issue the operating licence.
According to a ministerial decision as published in Official Gazette No. 3181B/2014, it is possible for various manufacturing activities to submit an application for an announcement of operation to the Development Directorate through the NOTIFYBUSINESS information system. Businesses that submit an announcement application are obliged to have all the necessary supporting documents – approvals (environmental impact study, fire protection certification, etc.).

Graduating from a technical school, which is related to industrial manufacturing activity is not sufficient to practise the profession. Therefore, in order for someone to work legally as a technician of any specialty, it is necessary to have either a professional activity commencement certificate or a licence to practice a profession from the Department of Professions of the Directorate of Development & Environment of each Regional Unit.
The technical professions which are subject to this obligation are the following and are categorised into three levels, technician, master technician and installer:
- plumber
- HVAC technician
- electrician
- combustion installation technician
- gas welding technician
- electro welding technician
In addition to the initial professional activity commencement certificate or licence, and as the technician gains experience over the years, he can apply to the same competent body to upgrade his certificate or licence to a higher level. Apart from that, for this to happen, the most important requirement is attestations of work experience. The work experience that someone acquires is recognised only if they hold a professional activity commencement certificate or a licence and also only if it was acquired under the supervision of a technician who has a higher licence of the same specialty, which is in force during the period of time that work experience was gained.
