The electromechanical facilities of a building are the ‘heart’ of its operation and therefore require careful study and proper construction. This is achieved by coordinated and methodical work in collaboration with the Architect and the Civil Engineer of the project, in order to integrate the Electromechanical facilities into the building, aesthetically and mainly functionally.
Today, the time has passed when the file of electromechanical (E/M) studies was limited to water supply- drainage studies. According to the current legislation, for any building with an area of more than 50m2, it is mandatory to prepare a series of E/M studies before the building permit is issued.
The «K&VGroup» company undertakes the preparation and submission of an E/M file to the competent Construction Service, which includes:
- heating study (conventional system or underfloor heating system, system using heat pumps, geothermal, etc.)
- gas fuel study
- hot water coverage study
- electrical study (strong and weak currents, position of panels, cable passages)
- transit study and calculation of water supply pipes (collector locations, vertical columns, etc.)
- crossing study and calculation of sewer and storm pipes (horizontal lines and vertical columns, etc.)
- study of thermal insulation adequacy and fulfilment of KENAK requirements
- study of central air conditioning system (if available) study, with plans for passage of air ducts, placement of vents, etc.
- allocation of central heating and domestic hot water costs
- fire protection – fire detection – fire extinguishing study
- lifts study (electrical, hydraulic, cargo)
- ventilation study
- lighting study
According to the current legislation, the study, the construction, the changes, the additions and the inspections of the electrical installations should be done in accordance with the ELOT HD 384 Standard, which replaces the Regulation of Internal Electrical Installations and has entered into force since 2006. It defines the method and frequency of control of the Internal Electrical Installations and the establishment of a New Licenced Electrician Certification, which everyone must follow. Thus, from November 1st, 2011, the new Licenced Electrician Certification is the only statement accepted by PPC (Public Power Corporation). Its purpose is to reduce electric shocks and fires from electrical causes and to improve electrical installations. It is requested by PPC in the following cases:
- New energy supply
- PPC consumer name change
- PPC supply reconnection
- Increase in energy power
- Change of supplier
- Residential off-peak tariff
